The main commercial uses of Triethylene Glycol (TEG) include : as dehumidifying agent for water removal in natural gas; as solvents, for resins, steam-set printing inks, and cleaning compounds;as plasticizers, for use in safety glass, separation membranes, and ceramic materials; as chemical intermediates. It is also used to make unsaturated polyester resins, adhesives, lacquers, polyurethane, silicon compounds, emulsifiers and lubricants; as humectants, to keep cork, paper and synthetic sponge from becoming brittle; as chemical additives, heat transfer fluid.
